Here it is in technicolour – thanks to photo ace, Rebecca Ashton – and you can see that a. the fence judge got it wrong when he gave her a run out on the second fence in the water – the first two are one obstacle) the final skinny frog jump is a separate fence and so she was within her rights to line it up as she wished. Apparently the Ground Jury reversed the decision on their own initiative about half an hour after the fence was jumped, and with no protest in from the Germans. It might however have been better handled if the decision had been properly announced rather than trying to keep it quiet…
