A knighthood for Sir Lui in Verden
(Press Release Verden) The Secret son Sir Lui achieved the top price of 27,500 Euros at the 4th edition of the Verden Foal Spring. In exciting duels, mostly German customers triumphed this time. An average of 9,259.62 Euros was paid for the 26 foals of the 2021 vintage.
Sir Lui and Savanna achieved the top prices as a double: Together, the two black beauties will be a future ”pas de deux” for a new customer in Germany. The first exciting bidding of the evening was for the Sezuan’s Donnerhall/Don Crusador daughter Savanna (breeder and exhibitor: Reinhard Wilms GbR, Hinte), who was the third foal to enter the final bidding. After 46 bids, the hammer fell at 26,500 Euros for customers from Germany.
It was precisely these customers who struck a second time and secured the top price foal of the evening for 27,500 Euros: Sir Lui by Secret/Sarkozy (breeder and exhibitor: Zuchtgemeinschaft Dittmer, Rhade). Out of the dam Hann.Pr.St. Scalett, this was already the fourth foal to find new owners via the Verden Auction.
The best paid foal with a show jumping pedigree was Damion by Dominator Z/For Pleasure (breeder and exhibitor: Zuchtgemeinschaft Krieger Lohmann, Hückeswagen). This bay youngster was selected by the Verden Auction team during a joint selection event with the Rhineland Studbook in Wickrath. The 5th Schloss Wickrath Foal Auction – Online Edition – is currently taking place and will enter the final bidding phase at wickrath.weauction.nl next Sunday, June 6, starting at 6:00 pm.
The Verden Foal Spring continues in a two-week rhythm. The next Online Foal Auction dates with about 20 foals each are: June 14 to 17 and June 28 to July 1. The Verden team is already looking forward to the first public presentation at the Verden Auction for foals and broodmares on August 6, followed by an Online Auction on August 7 and 8. Of course, this will only take place if the official regulations will allow it at that time.
