Free jumping competition of the Hannoveraner Show Jumping
Breeding Programme
(Verden Press Release) On Wednesday, March 30, it is that time again. The Niedersachsenhalle in Verden will be the venue for outstanding show jumping talents. 63 three-year olds and 33 four-year olds with top-class pedigrees and excellent dam lines will compete in the free jumping competition of the Hannoveraner Show Jumping Breeding Programme. The top talents will be judged by the successful show jumper and trainer Lars Meyer zu Bexten and by breeding director Ulrich Hahne and trainer Thomas Schönig. From 9 a.m. CET the exciting event will be broadcast live on the internet by Hannoveraner TV.
Exactly 25 years ago, the first free jumping competition took place in Verden. In 1997 it was Adlantus As who left the Niedersachsenhalle as the winner and later participated in the World Equestrian Games in Jerez de la Frontera with Germany’s Lars Nieberg. Since then, numerous Hannoveraner who made their first public appearance at the free jumping competition have been part of one of the collections at the Verden auctions and have gone on to have international careers.
In addition to the coveted winner’s sashes, cash and honorary prizes, the exhibitors of the two champions will receive vouchers for inseminations of the highly interesting, modern show jumping sires from the Celle State Stud and Stutteri Ask. In addition to technique and scope, the jumping intelligence is also evaluated in the free jumping competition. These characteristics, combined with the up-to-date sires, many of whom have been successful in international sport, and valuable dam lines, are the hallmarks of the modern Hannoveraner show jumper. The horses will be commented on individually by the judges.
