Paget, Jonathon (Jock)
Discipline : Eventing
Born : 1986
Born in New Zealand, Jock moved to Australia in 1986, and discovered his love for riding while trail riding at the age of 18. Giving up his bricklaying career, Jock was a working pupil with Australian eventer, Kevin McNab for three years, and was competing at three star level in less than two years.
After the outbreak of equine influenza in Australia, he moved to New Zealand where he started riding Frances Stead’s Clifton Eventers. He rode Clifton Promise to 27th place at Kentucky Rolex 3DE**** in 2010. At the WEG in Kentucky two years later, the pair finished 7th.
In 2013, Jock won both Badminton and Burghley on Clifton Promise before he was suspended from all international competitions after a blood test at Burghley proved positive to reserpine. As of, April 2014, the case is still unresolved although Jock protests his innocence.
