For a while Parco looked like proving himself a worthy successor to his famous sire. Like Darco, Parco was ridden by Ludo Phillipaerts, and enjoyed spectacular success at CSI-W and CSIO level. In 2001 he took out the Grand Prix at Paris-Bercy, at Bordeaux and the Nations Cups at Aachen and Dublin.

In 2002 Parco had another super season, qualifying for the WEG at Jerez, but was withdrawn when he had a fever. In 2003 he continued to star with placings Europe’s leading shows including a fabulous performance at Donaueschingen European Championships where he missed the Gold Medal by one second.

2004 was more of the same, ending with an individual 5^th at the Athens Olympics. The next year he was 9th at the World Cup final in Las Vegas. In 2006, Parco was1st at Monaco Grand Prix CSI****, 4th at Cannes Grand Prix CSI****, 1st at Estoril Grand Prix CSI*****, 9th at the Aachen WEG.

After that, Parco lost that winning form – in 2007, there was a 54^th at the Grand Prix of Arezzo, and in 2008, a 1^st in a 1.45 at Grobbendonk…

Parco was retired from competition in 2009 at the age of 16.

Parco is out of a mare by the Almé son, Attack Z.

On the dam line, Parco’s great great grand-dam, Ramony is by the Anglo Arab, Ramzes. This side of his pedigree also features the Westfalien stalwart, Frühling.

Parco is truly an international sire, licensed for the Belgian, Zangersheide, French and Swedish studbooks. Parco’s offspring starred in foal shows, loose jumping contests and auctions. His stallion sons, include Booster (out of a Remondo mare) and Dream d’Hedje DWS out of a mare by Hedjaz. Angel v/d Hoendrik (Indoctro) was the Belgian National Four Year old Champion in 2004.

Dirk Demeersmen and Bufero van het Panishof (Polydiktus van de Helle) finished in the top 25 at the London 2012 Olympics
 but it seems that Parco suffers in comparison with his sire, Darco, in the stallion stakes.
