Robert Dover has lead the way for American Dressage ever since his first appearance at the 1984 Olympic Games, and, incredibly, Robert competed at every Games from 84 to 2004. He won four team bronze, and another team bronze at the 1984 WEG. A specialist in Freestyle, Robert made the Europeans sit up and take notice in 1987 when he beat the great Reiner Klimke in the Freestyle at Aachen.

He has been the technical advisor to the American Dressage team since 2013.
