Who's Who
Hewitt, Bernadette
Discipline : Journalist
Lives : Wiltshire, England
Bernadette Hewitt has been writing about horses and people for a long time (but not as long as Chris Hector). As an award-winning equestrian journalist she covered four Olympics and numerous championships and is the author of several books including Valegro: Champion Horse, Making it Happen and Down to Earth Dressage with Carl Hester and Eventing Down Under with Chris Hector
After gaining a first class law degree in 2009 she decided a black suit and court shoes wasn’t the look for her and returned to writing and working as a media and fundraising consultant.
Bernie lives in Wiltshire with her husband Richard, a retired Army Officer, and their Labrador dog Lenny (and only put that bit in as Carl says it makes her sounds like Jilly Cooper). She’s no way as old as Jilly but pleads the Lady Bracknell amendment on ladies disclosing their ages and has remained 35 for some time “of her own free choice.”
