Clarke grew up on a sheep and cattle farm in Otago and gained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Otago in 2008. He then moved to the North Island to pursue his dream of eventing…
Highlights of his career to date include three times winning the New Zealand Advanced Eventing Championships, being the youngest ever winner of an Eventing World Cup Qualifier at 19 years of age and being on the bronze medal winning NZ Eventing Team at the World Equestrian Games, Kentucky 2010. Clarke also won the 2011 FEI World Cup Eventing Series with wins at both the New Zealand and Australian rounds of the Series and 6th at the French Event.
Clarke moved to England in May 2011, to prepare for the London 2012 Olympic Games. However he had a series of horse injuries and decided to move back to New Zealand to re-group.
