Megan Jones began riding at the age of five, continued through her early years in Pony Club before hitting the international scene in 2003 at the World Cup Final where she rode Kirby Park Irish Hallmark. In 2005 she won Melbourne International Three Day Event three star on Kirby Park Irish Jester, the horse her family bred, and who Megan had broken in and trained throughout his career. Later in the same year they won the four star at the 2005 Adelaide Horse Trials. Chosen to compete in the 2006 World Equestrian Games, Megan and Jester were on the bronze medal winning Australian Event Team, and finished 16th individually.
Megan and Jester won a team silver medal in Beijing in 2008. She had the misfortune of being selected at the last minute in the Australian team with Kirby Park Allofasudden at the London Games, only to miss out at an even later minute, when the horse hurt himself.
